Self-denial is not a popular topic, but it's necessary to walk in obedience to Christ. God calls us to lay down our wants, desires, comfort, and our opinions and take up our cross. This is a daily decision for me when I include Christ in all the details of my life, big and small. Sometimes, this decision requires me to say no to opportunities, pleasures, or whatever it may be to follow His path.
The cross can sometimes be painful, just as Christ endured it. Let us be encouraged today that Jesus gives us life and joy through continually being obedient to His will. He overcame the cross, and so do we! Though dying to self is difficult, the eternal result is worth it. These spiritual bodies are taking us well beyond this moment, so let's sow seeds of total abandonment of ourselves to Christ in our spirits. All the glory to Him!
