As a child, I will never forget waking up on Sunday mornings with my mother singing,” Rise and Shine, gotta get to church on time.” From the time I was born, my mom raised me up to know Jesus. The faith she has instilled in me has shaped me into who I am today. I’ve also raised my children to know and love God. Don’t get me wrong, raising kids to follow the rules and hold fast to their faith is not an easy road, but as the “mom boss,” it’s your most important job.
I now have teenagers in my home, and it’s still my most important job. Last Sunday, on the way to church, the teens were fighting over the Bluetooth privileges to play music for our 20-minute drive. As we listened to their favorite music, I finally had to pipe in and tell them that I prefer to have worship music on as we prepare our hearts for the church service.
This Sunday, we all headed out the door to make the drive to church. My teen daughter beat everyone to the car, and as we pulled out of the driveway, I looked over at her phone. And she had created a playlist filled with worship music just for our Sunday drive. As she played DJ for our morning drive, our car was filled with the sounds of worship! Keep up the good work, moms! The struggle is worth it in the end. Keep your eyes on Jesus, and he will continue to help you raise up your children!
